DescriptionResearch indicates half of Australian adults who end up in prison are parents to young children. It is estimated 43,000 children have a parent incarcerated, although there is no official record and no special services including government department outreach, to support them.  In 2021 the Victorian Government announced an inquiry into the children of imprisoned parents with the report due in July of this year. Monash University Senior Lecturer of Social Work Catherine Flynn discusses the issue and its impact with Jeff Bullen.
