Domestic air travel in Australia is severely hampered by a lack of competition. Unsurprisingly, this has led to costly airfares and, at times, appalling service. The present article discusses the pending consumer law litigation between the ACCC and Qantas, and suggests that consumer law remedies alone will not bring transformative change to this sector.
