Focusing on the activities of D Company, the article details the rationale for its expansion into the illegal bookmaking, its control of the market, its links to players and administrators in Indian cricket, and the diversification of its revenue to jihadists groups and into property in the Gulf States through hawala networks. Details from the article were quoted in the Singaporean and Dannish press, and it formed the basis for the author's address at the Victorian Police's Sports Integrity Symposium at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in May 2015.
