Behaviour Management Episode 9: Supporting students with challenging behaviour

    Press/Media: Profile/Interview

    Description

In our annual reader survey, we ask our readers to share one piece of advice they would pass on to a fellow educator. Each year, many of you are wanting to remind other teachers to not take a student’s behaviour personally, because it’s usually linked to a deeper issue a student’s facing. So, how can teachers go about identifying the underlying causes of a student’s behaviour, and then approach responding to it in a respectful and effective way? To dissect these questions further, I’m joined today by Senior Lecturer at Monash University, Dr Erin Leif, and PhD student and former primary school teacher, Russell Fox.
