Technology is being developed to help simulate worst-case scenarios, that could predict or prevent landslides like the one that sent a house crashing into two others below on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula yesterday.

While no one was killed in that incident, there have been other devastating landslides in Australia, which usually happen after heavy rain events.
