Description
Visited University College London and shadowed the researchers from The Molecular NeuroPathobiology Laboratory in performing the following techniques and procedures:
Animal work • Live imaging of endosomal signaling endosomes (sciatic nerve - live monitoring) • Fluorescent tagging of the transport probe (e.g.: fragment of tetanus toxin - HcT) • Dissection of sciatic nerve and muscles (tibialis anterior, soleus, extensor digitorum longus, gastrocnemius, lumbrical and flexor digitorum brevis) from mice.
In vitro work • Harvesting embryo spinal cord and brains for neuronal culture • Differentiation of neurons from human engineered iPS cells (i3N and i3LMN) • Fabrication and set up of microfluidic chambers • Live imaging of neuronal cells using confocal microscopy • Labelling of TeNT HcT441 with Alexa Fluor • Axonal retrograde transport assay - Test the axonal transport of organelles (e.g., HcT, mitochondria) within the different compartments of microfluidic chambers.
