Activity: Participating in or organising an event types › Contribution to workshop, seminar, course

Description

Organised by ThinkCity Institute, the Heritage Symposium & Workshop “Unlocking the Potential of Cultural” aims to encourage both the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage as a tool for urban regeneration.

I moderated the session titled 'LEVERAGE Cultural Heritage as a Driver for Sustainable Tourism', which considered questions such as:
1) How the tourism industry can better serve the needs of the society or citizens of a place?
2) How can the tourism industry be leveraged as a way to attract talent and investment?
3) Providing an authentic and meaningful experience for visitors with minimum intrusion and disruption of the culture and heritage of a community should be a benchmark of the tourism industry. What are the factors which would support this?
4) Impact of Covid-19 – pivoting from mass tourism and foreign visitors to domestic tourism – is this a chance NOT to return to business as usual?
