Description

Safety and inclusivity are critical parts of our purpose to design the world’s best places – places people love.

Through a collaborative partnership with Monash University’s XYX Lab, we’re endeavouring to improve safety for women and girls. To explore perceptions of safety specifically on places we've designed, we conducted a post-occupancy evaluation of two Melbourne rail projects.

The post-occupancy evaluation revealed a lot that we – and the guidelines and policies that shape the industry in general – need to take into consideration to improve our projects.

Please join us to hear from Associate Professor Nicole Kalms, Director at XYXLab about how the evaluation challenges accepted standards of rail station design, and what it means for designing places for everyone.
