Australian Parliamentary Inquiry Committee's report on the Franchising Code of Conduct has included Dr. Sudha Mani's recommendations on - Proposed new regulatory powers; Paucity of publicly available data; Views on a mandatory public franchise registry; Current exit arrangements for franchisees.
For example, the Committee cites her recommendation in its discussion on the need for public disclosure documents,
"Dr Mani recommended that the ACCC build a repository of disclosure documents that are freely available to the public (Fairness in Franchising report, 2019, pp. 63-64)." Four of these six citations were related to the creation of a public franchise disclosure registry (also, see sections 6.86 and 6.87 of the Fairness in Franchising Report 2019).
