Indonesia plans to build a new capital territory on Borneo that will span 256.142 Ha, larger than London and more than three times the size of the current Jakarta.The lecture will open the discussion on the masterplan of the new capital city of Indonesia (Nusantara) in Kalimantan and the way in which it constructs new narratives for Indonesian national identity. It interrogates the master planning of the capital movement, its symbolic meaning and at the same time analyse its consequences towards local people, economy and environment.
