    Workshop: Inclusive instructional design in higher education: From research to practice

    Informed by the principles of Universal Design for Learning and a social justice agenda, this session will explore ways of moving from a reactive to proactive approach to designing inclusive learning spaces in higher education. The session will offer practical strategies to design for inclusion from the start, by demonstrating how to use multiple means of representation, engagement and action/expression. The focus will be on improving accessibility and reducing barriers to learning and active participation for all students, but particularly students with disabilities. Targeted at educators in higher education, the session will leave you with ideas and techniques to accommodate a range of student learning needs and abilities.
