Description

How can we safeguard our mental wellbeing amidst incessant uncertainty, anxiety and isolation wrought by the pandemic, lockdowns and natural disasters? Is there ambition to reshape a mental health system in which out-of-pocket costs exclude so many? And what possibilities lie within First Nations methodologies for improving mental health in young people? Sarah Krasnostein, author of the recent Quarterly Essay Not Waving, Drowning: Mental Illness and Vulnerability in Australia; Antoinette Lattouf, journalist and Gidget Foundation ambassador; Rick Morton, journalist and author of My Year of Living Vulnerably; and Cammi Murrup-Stewart, an Aboriginal academic with close ties to Wurundjeri Country, and a social and emotional wellbeing researcher, consider the path forward, with Astrid Edwards (The Garret).
