Description
The Monash College Art and Design Exhibition (MADE) was established in 2023 under the BLAST (Belong, Learn, Achieve, Succeed Together) initiative as a major platform for public presentation and recognition within the Diploma of Art and Design at Monash College. Developed in parallel with Jhana Pfeiffer-Hunt’s research, The Power of Public Presentation: Authentic Learning in Art and Design Education (IDEA Journal, 2023), the exhibition extended the pedagogical framework established through that study and provided an institutional context for its continuation and future phases.Showcasing more than 180 student works across the Art and Design program at Monash College, the exhibition combined physical and digital modes of display to situate student work within professional and public contexts. Through its curated format and associated awards program, MADE foregrounded the pedagogical value of audience engagement, motivation, and recognition in art and design education.
