Description

This project investigates long-term Aboriginal use of Lizard Island and nearby islets, focusing on settlement, subsistance, ceremonial activities and connections with Melanesian seafarers. Research focuses on middens, rock art, stone arrangements and enigmatic ceramics of apparent Melanesian form. This is a joint partnership with the local Dingaal Aboriginal community.
