Japanese encephalitis E protein interactions with human host proteins

Activity: External Academic EngagementExternal HDR Supervision

Description

The goal of this research is to understand the protein interactomes generated after JEV infection in mosquitos, swine, and humans:
Objectives
To predict the interactome of JEV proteins with hosts (mosquito, pig, and human) cellular proteins using in silico method
To isolate genes related to the various host cells post-infected with JEV for the construction of cDNA libraries for proteomic analysis between the virus and hosts
To investigate the interactome of JEV proteins with hosts (mosquito, pig, and human) cellular proteins using a yeast-two-hybrid screening method
To validate the identified interacting protein partners by MS analysis
To determine the functions of identified host proteins by gene silencing
