Introduction to Mass Spectrometry Workshop

Description

Introduction to Mass Spectrometry workshop organized by the LCMS Platform was successfully held on the 22nd and 23rd April 2019. The event saw a turnout of 77.5 % or 45 out of 58 registered participants. The workshop was held for beginners in the field of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry. Prof. Iekhsan kick started the workshop by introducing the participants the mass spectrometry facilities in Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. Participants were given lectures on theory and fundamentals of chromatography and mass spectrometry in addition to their applications in Day 1 by Robin Philp from Agilent. Dr. Erhan Simsek continued Day 2 by giving lectures on fundamentals and applications of omics study in the morning session. Afternoon and final session of the workshop saw Dr. Syafiq Asnawi provided lectures on basic mass spectrometry sample preparation and data analysis using PEAKS software
