Description
I was invited to be part of a study on civil society participation in the promotion and protection of the diversity of cultural expressions in Asia, commissioned by the International Federation of Coalitions for Cultural Diversity (IFCCD). This report aims to guide the IFCCD in determining what role it can play in the region to help meet the needs of civil society. This report should inform the IFCCD on:Organizations that are explicitly or less explicitly active in the field of the 2005 UNESCO Convention, and those that have a regional scope (in a few countries);
The resources in terms of training, information and monitoring in the region (UNESCO centers, UNESCO Chair or research centers, international institutions);
The main challenges for the implementation of the Convention in Asia Pacific.
