Description

HR Forum 2017: Rising to HR Challenges in the Next Decade
In a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment, organizations in Asia find themselves facing ongoing HR challenges and opportunities regarding the most effective and efficient strategies to put the right people at the right time and place in order to attain a competitive advantage. The advancement of the technology has changed some of the employment types to contingent workers, shifted routine to automated jobs, changed the current cultures of organizations to be more inclusive, and moved towards an integrated human resource platform in Asia. These changes will have numerous effects on the current HR policies and practices in Asian organizations. Hence, the Department of Management of the School of Business proposes an HR forum jointly organized with Fish Camp Learning Sdn Bhd, a dynamic human resource training and consulting agency. The objective of the forum is to gather HR practitioners and scholars to discuss the major HR challenges and opportunities in Asia. The forum will enhance our current partnerships with existing organizations and open up new collaboration opportunities with other organizations. Through the Forum, we will explore corporates’ interest in sponsoring student internships and projects, and hosting study trips for postgraduate programs. Other schools can also benefit from the forum through the event office.
