About this event
Time & Date: 9am-noon, 11 & 18 August, 2021
Location: C3.02A, Monash Caulfield Campus / Online
Who should attend?
Design students who want to specialise in Service/Product Design as a career pathway. No previous experience needed. This workshop is free and open to students enrolled in any Design coursework units at Monash University.
What will be covered?
You will undertake a design challenge over a short period in a collaborative format known as Design Sprints. There will be guided materials, lightning presentations, and hands-on prototyping activities throughout the workshop. You will be mentored by professional UX designers from Relab, and design lecturers from Monash University to understand, define, make, and validate your design outcomes.
How much time do I need to commit?
There will be one pre-flight and one post-sprint activities before and after the 2-day workshop. You should commit 3 hours per week over 4 weeks to get the full benefit of the program.
What will I get out of the program?
This activity won’t appear in your official Monash transcript, but you can include your design outcomes in your portfolios and CVs. You will also have an opportunity to meet designers working in the creative industry.
How can I participate?
Register on Eventbrite to secure your spot. Because the space is very limited, we will only be able to offer this workshop on a first-come-first-serve basis. If you’re not based in Melbourne, there is an opportunity to indicate that you will attend online in the registration form.
Design Playground is facilitated by Relab, a Melbourne-based design agency in collaboration with Monash Design.
