Description
This hands-on workshop will focus on how Indigenous values might help us independently yet collectively reimagine how to care for people, community, and Country.Integrating Indigenous ways of knowing within design practice provides a foundation and scaffold for how we can more effectively align our values with our actions. The workshop will introduce the Seven Grandfathers’ Teachings from North America: a set of teachings on human conduct towards others that are traditionally relevant and still needed to this day in order for communities to survive. The seven teachings are Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth.
Workshop participants can walk away with intentions and values reframed by purpose and place-based perspectives.
