Description
The Data and Democracy: A Geopolitical Security Forum examines how big data and algorithm-related technologies can strengthen and threaten freedom, justice and development. We aim to facilitate a constructive dialogue among stakeholders on a range of critical challenges including misinformation, political polarisation, the prevalence of filter bubbles and echo chambers, disinformation tactics such as fake news and propaganda, the issues arising from confounding algorithms, the amplification of extreme viewpoints, digital user exploitation, manufactured consent, election gerrymandering, and the ethical deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our objective is to generate impact through research and advancements in big data analytics, algorithm development, business model innovation, legal frameworks, and public policy.Period | 25 Oct 2023 |
