Description

This meeting and workshop sought to build on the cross-institutional gathering of scholars and curators initiated by Olivier Krischer and Stephen Whiteman, Asian Art Research in Australia and New Zealand: Past, Present, Futureheld in Sydney, 2015. Following from the 2015 meeting, the aim of this Melbourne meeting was to evaluate the need for, and help shape the identity of a network of Asian Art Research in Australia and New Zealand and discuss the kind of platform needed to support the future of Asian art scholarship and its dissemination. The accompanying workshop invited participants to communicate their personal and/or institutional Asian art research activities, past and forthcoming.
