‘Skills for Independence’ are community based peer-led skills courses that aim to build community and individual capacity on residential courses. Skills for Independence is the flagship of the Living Well Project that is funded through an NDIS ILC grant. Participants (people with spinal cord injuries or other similar physical disability) attend group sessions during which they work on self-identified skills such as wheelchair skills, managing pain and fatigue, positive mental and emotional health post injury. This honours project would involve evaluating a component of this program.

Relevance to practice and agency:
This project will assist in the evaluation component of this innovative community based intervention, to inform future iterations of the program.
