Acquisition: 'Untitled zine of photocopied newspaper clippings about military interventions in the Middle East' (2018)

Activity: Community Talks, Presentations, Exhibitions and EventsAcquisition

Description

This series of photocopied zines is part of an on-going project that examines the dissemination and ubiquity of The News, the proposition that there could be 'fake' and 'not-fake' news, news reports of the conflicts in the Middle East and our remoteness from detailed information and knowledge about these events here in the Southern hemisphere, and the relationship of this dispersal of information to the fine art print. These works respond to current events and explore how the fields of the news, current events, the print and contemporary art might intersect.
These works were made as a response to working in Saudi Arabia as part of a Capacity Building in Art and Design Project conducted between Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University, Riyadh and Monash University, Melbourne over three visits 2013-2015.
