One summer afternoon in Melbourne, Alex Selenitsch and Marian Crawford realised that they might make something together, given their common interests in books, the printed image and text. Selenitsch sent Crawford four poems, his re-writes of a poem by Yang Wanli (1127-1206). Crawford’s response was to make images that observed and supported the poems’ gentle interrogation of the power of language. From across time and cultures, a small book arrived.
